What's in this guide

Getting started

Tap Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. We use the verified identity from either provider; we never see or store your password. If you choose Apple, you can opt to hide your email address β€” that's fine and works fully.

Location permission

The app asks for location so it can show you trucks near you. Pick "While Using" β€” that's all GrubTrucks needs. Your location is used on your device and as a search parameter to the food directories; it never gets sent to our servers.

Choose your role

On first launch you pick Customer (you're here to find food) or Vendor (you own a truck and want to be listed). You can switch later in Settings.

The Explore tab β€” the home screen

Explore is the main screen. It shows a list of food trucks and restaurants near you, with a status pill that tells you instantly whether each one is worth your time right now.

By default, the list is sorted by distance, filtered to open right now. You can change both at the top of the screen.

The status pill

Every truck card shows a colored pill that gives you the most-important piece of information without tapping in:

Truck detail β€” everything about a truck

Tap a truck to open its detail page. You'll see:

The directions action sheet

Tap Get directions and choose how you want to get there:

The Map tab

If you prefer to see trucks geographically, tap the Map tab. Each open truck shows up as a colored pin matching its status. Tap a pin for a preview; tap the preview to open the full truck detail.

Favorites

Tap the heart on any truck to save it. Favorites appear in their own tab and persist across devices signed into the same account. The app surfaces favorites that are open nearby and quietly warns you when one moves.

Vendor mode β€” for truck owners

If you operate a truck and want to be listed, switch to Vendor mode in Settings. From there you can register your truck, set today's location and hours, and update your menu. See For Operators for the full pitch and onboarding details.

Settings & account

Settings lives behind your avatar in the top-right corner. You can edit your display name, pick an avatar, swap the app icon, change between light/dark/automatic appearance, and review your privacy choices.

To delete your account: Settings β†’ Account β†’ Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible β€” all your favorites, your role, and your wallet metadata are erased from our systems and your device.

QR code & optional XRP wallet

Every account has a QR code β€” a quick way to share your profile or, optionally, your XRP wallet receive address with someone in person.

If you choose to configure XRP, GrubTrucks stores your public receive address only, locked to your device's keychain. We never store, transmit, or have access to private keys, seed phrases, or any signing material β€” and we never custody, route, or process cryptocurrency funds. The wallet is fully non-custodial; payments go directly to the address you supply.
